# Connect your agent

> Give Claude Code, Cursor or Claude Desktop your organization's decisions and context over MCP

Synapse is an MCP server. Once connected, your agent can recall what your organization decided and why, find related context for a change, and record new decisions. It only sees sources an admin has designated, and only what you're allowed to see in them.

The endpoint is `https://api.synheart.ai/synapse/v1/mcp`. You sign in once in the browser; your client keeps its own token after that, so there's nothing to paste.

<Tabs>
  <Tab title="Claude Code">
    ```bash theme={null}
    claude mcp add --transport http synapse https://api.synheart.ai/synapse/v1/mcp
    ```
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Cursor">
    Add to `.cursor/mcp.json` (merge it into `mcpServers` if the file exists):

    ```json theme={null}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "synapse": {
          "url": "https://api.synheart.ai/synapse/v1/mcp"
        }
      }
    }
    ```
  </Tab>

  <Tab title="Claude Desktop">
    Add to `claude_desktop_config.json`, then restart Claude Desktop. It runs `mcp-remote` through `npx`, so Node.js must be installed.

    ```json theme={null}
    {
      "mcpServers": {
        "synapse": {
          "command": "npx",
          "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://api.synheart.ai/synapse/v1/mcp"]
        }
      }
    }
    ```
  </Tab>
</Tabs>

The same instructions, with your organization's endpoint filled in, are under **Setup → AI Tools** at synapse.synheart.ai. That page also lists the clients you've connected.

<Note>
  Connecting an agent over MCP gives it your organization's knowledge. Enforcing team rules is separate and works through the guard hook: see [Developer setup](/synapse/developer-setup).
